Over the Wildstrubel, from the Oberland to Valais

Five start towns on two sides of a mountain range, and every race ends on the same square in Crans-Montana.

Wildstrubel by UTMB ran from 10 to 13 September 2026, and the organiser has announced the next edition for 9 to 12 September 2027. The Wild 110 (113 km, 6,600 m) is a loop from Crans-Montana that starts on Friday night. The others run point to point into Valais: the Wild 70 from Kandersteg (72 km, 4,600 m), the Wild Glacier Marathon from Lenk (42 km, 2,700 m), the Wild 55 from Adelboden (55 km, 3,300 m) and the Wild 25 from Leukerbad (26 km, 1,200 m). The Wild 10 and the Wild NextGen for 10-17-year-olds are 10-kilometre loops above Crans-Montana.

The long courses cross between the cantons of Bern and Valais over high passes: the Gemmi at 2,268 metres, the Rawyl at 2,427, the Schnidejoch at 2,756, and the Wildstrubel hut at 2,800 metres as the highest point. They pass through Kandersteg, Adelboden and Lenk, climb the Chuenisbärgli World Cup ski run, and come home past the Tseuzier lake and along the Bisse du Ro, an irrigation channel path above the Rhône valley, to the finish on Place Ycoor.

Between the valleys there are long sections with no road. The organiser warns that the pass road between Adelboden and Lenk is closed to private cars. On Livebib the runner shares a link to their own broadcast, and family and friends open it in a browser, with no account and no app. They see the position on the course line, distance covered and a finish estimate that updates as the race goes. When the phone loses signal on a pass or a glacier edge, the position is carried forward along the course and marked as estimated instead of freezing. The runner decides who gets the link.
