The organiser sums the course up in threes: one wild climb out of Leukerbad, one crossing through the mountain pastures, and one refreshment point at the highest point of the route. After that comes a varied descent through forest and technical ground and along the historic bisses, the irrigation channels of Valais, to the finish on Place Ycoor. The Varenalp, reachable only on foot, and Colombire are the places to watch. There is no assistance anywhere on the course.

The start is split by UTMB index into three waves at 08:30, 08:45 and 09:00, and a separate performance wave for the prize-eligible runners at 11:30, which means the fastest set off three hours after most of the field. A shuttle brought runners from Crans-Montana to Leukerbad on the Sunday morning. With six hours for 26 kilometres, it suits anyone who has done a mountain half marathon and wants a real Valais crossing.

This page belongs to the 2026 Wild 25. With waves three hours apart, the finish area sees the field arrive in a long, mixed stream. On Livebib the runner shares a link to their own broadcast, and the people waiting see the position on the course line, distance covered and a finish estimate that updates as the race goes. When the phone drops signal in the forest on the way down, the position is carried forward along the course and marked as estimated.
