The Giants’ Loop around Valle d’Aosta

The 330 kilometres follow the Alte Vie 1 and 2, accumulating 24,000 metres of ascent across 25 mountain passes. High points include the Col Loson at 3,299 metres and the narrow notch of the Col Malatrà at 2,925 metres, opening the final view back to Mont Blanc. Seven life bases (Valgrisenche, Cogne, Donnas, Gressoney-Saint-Jean, Valtournenche, Ollomont and Courmayeur) anchor the course where runners sleep, eat and reorganize their drop bags under a strict 150 hour cutoff.
