Spartan Gubbio, live.

The last obstacles stand in front of the Roman ruins

A Spartan weekend in Gubbio where the course mixes the town’s streets with forest trails and ends in the Parco del Teatro Romano.

Spartan Gubbio is held on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November 2026 in Gubbio, in the province of Perugia. Saturday has the Beast, 21 km with 30 obstacles, and Sunday the Super, 10 km with 25. The Sprint, 5 km with 20 obstacles, runs on both days, and there is a Kids Race of one to three kilometres on Saturday. Together the Sprint, Super and Beast make up the Spartan Trifecta, and Gubbio offers all three in one weekend.

Spartan describes the course as a blend of urban streets and quiet forest trails. The finish is at the Parco del Teatro Romano, where the final obstacles are set in front of the ancient Roman ruins, which also makes it the natural place for spectators. The event page does not publish start waves, ascent or time limits; those come with the participant information.

An obstacle race is hard to follow from outside: people disappear into the woods for long stretches and the clock tells you nothing about the obstacles in between. The runner shares a link to their own Livebib broadcast; family and friends open it in a browser, with no account and no app, and see the position on the course line, distance covered and a finish estimate that updates as the race goes. Anything estimated is marked as estimated, and the runner decides who gets the link.
