Eleven at night on Corso Italia

Five races in five days around Cortina d’Ampezzo, and the longest of them starts at eleven at night so that its runners reach the Tre Cime di Lavaredo as the sun comes up.

The 2027 week runs from 23 to 27 June. It opens with the 10K at 19:00 on Wednesday 23 June and the 20K at 17:00 on Thursday, both timed for evening light on the Dolomites. The 50K leaves at 08:00 on Friday 25 June, the 120K at 23:00 the same night, and the 80K at 07:00 on Saturday from Val Marzon above Auronzo di Cadore: the only race that does not start in Cortina. Every race finishes on Corso Italia in the centre of town.

The 120K is the course the event is named for: 120 km and 5,800 m of climbing with a 30-hour limit, its 20th edition in 2027. After a night through Ospitale, Passo Tre Croci and Misurina it climbs to Rifugio Auronzo and Forcella Lavaredo at 2,449 m, under the Tre Cime, then turns south through Cimabanche, Col Gallina, Passo Giau and Croda da Lago back down to Cortina. The 80K and 50K share that southern half.

Most of the race happens far from any road a supporter can drive. On Livebib the runner shares a link to their own broadcast, and family open it in a browser, no account, no app, to see the position on the course line, the distance covered and a finish estimate that updates as the night goes on. When the phone loses signal between Misurina and Cimabanche, the position is carried forward along the course and marked as estimated rather than freezing. The runner decides who gets the link.
