Flat roads through the city of mosaics

The Maratona di Ravenna Città d'Arte runs on Sunday 8 November 2026 with a marathon, a half marathon and a 10 km, all ending at the MAR art museum.

The race is organised by Ravenna Runners Club and sums itself up as fun, fast and flat. In 2026 the marathon also hosts the Italian FIDAL Masters championship, a title Ravenna has held several times since 2015. Every finisher of the marathon and half receives a mosaic medal, a nod to the city's Byzantine mosaics.

The marathon and the half marathon both start at 09:15 from Pala De André on Viale Europa and finish at the Museo del MAR on Via di Roma. The marathon has a time limit of 6 hours 30 minutes and the half marathon 3 hours 15 minutes. Refreshments follow the federation rules along the course, and bags are carried from the start to the finish.

The Martini Good Morning Ravenna 10K starts at 10:15 from Pala De André and is a relaxed run open to walkers too, with a timed option, a refreshment at km 5 and the same finish. Shuttle buses link the finish area with Pala De André, and the expo runs on 6 and 7 November.

With its flat profile the marathon suits a personal best attempt in autumn, while the 10K is for families and friends. Spectators can see the start on Viale Europa and then walk to the finish by the MAR museum.
