Cuneo's gran fondo over the Colle Fauniera

La Fausto Coppi is a road gran fondo from Piazza Galimberti in Cuneo into the Cottian Alps, with the Colle Fauniera at its heart.

The 38th edition is on Sunday 27 June 2027. All three routes start together at 7:00 from Piazza Galimberti in Cuneo, where the grids open at 6:15 and race packs are handed out from Friday 25 June. The field is limited to 2,800 cyclists, and online entry closes on 22 June 2027.

The Granfondo covers 172 km and 4,330 m of climbing. It heads out through Busca to Rossana and the Valle Varaita, climbs to Sampeyre and crosses into the Valle Maira, then goes up to the Colle Fauniera at 2,481 m, descends to Demonte and returns by Valdieri and Borgo San Dalmazzo. The Mediofondo covers 111 km and 2,510 m, going straight to the Valle Grana through Caraglio and Pradleves to the same Fauniera climb.

The Fauniera Classic covers 101 km and 2,187 m on much the same road as the Mediofondo, with no ranking and an alphabetical finishers list. It is also the only route open to e-bikes. Everyone must wear the official 2027 jersey for the whole ride.

Riders must be at least 18, and from the age of 71 only the Mediofondo or the Fauniera Classic is allowed. A medical certificate for competitive cycling is required, and riders without a licence take a one day card at the race office. Spectators can watch the start and finish in Piazza Galimberti, the main square of Cuneo.
