Coastal gran fondo in Nuevo Vallarta

GranFondo Riviera Nayarit is a road ride on Mexico's Pacific coast, from the team behind RBC GranFondo Whistler, starting and finishing on Boulevard Nuevo Vallarta.

The 2027 edition is on Saturday 17 April in Riviera Nayarit. The organiser sums up the idea as a ride from sand to sun, and both routes start and finish on Boulevard Nuevo Vallarta, north of Puerto Vallarta on the Bay of Banderas.

There are two distances. The Gran Fondo covers 92 km with 980 m of climbing. The Forte covers 130 km with 1,120 m of climbing. The Forte is the longer and hillier choice, while the Gran Fondo keeps the same coastal setting over a shorter day, so riders can pick the distance that matches their season.

The event is run by the RBC GranFondo team, which also organises the Whistler gran fondo in Canada. Its website offers help with hotels, airport transfers and car rental, and the athletes guide is published in both English and Spanish for cyclists travelling in from abroad.

Friends and family can follow the start and finish on Boulevard Nuevo Vallarta, where the celebration plaza and package pickup are part of the event agenda.
