Gran Maratón HERSA Mazatlán, live.

A seafront marathon weekend on the Pacific

The Gran Maratón HERSA Mazatlán celebrates its 25th edition on 5 and 6 December 2026, with four distances run along the Malecón of Mazatlán.

The Gran Maratón HERSA Mazatlán is the biggest athletics event in Sinaloa, run by an organising committee from the Venados de Mazatlán club with the approval of the national athletics federation. The 2026 edition is the 25th, and the organiser expects around 8,000 participants. The weekend starts with the sports expo on Friday 4 December and the races follow on Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday 5 December the 10K starts at 17:05 and the 5K at 17:15, with the wheelchair and visually impaired categories of the 10K setting off at 17:00. On Sunday 6 December the marathon starts at 6:05 and the half marathon at 6:20, after the adaptive categories at 6:00. All races start on Avenida Leonismo Internacional in front of the Teodoro Mariscal stadium, and the distances are certified by World Athletics and the national federation. The marathon is a Boston qualifier.

The route keeps its character and runs along the Malecón, the long seafront promenade, with the Pacific on one side. Time limits are six hours for the marathon, three hours for the half marathon and one hour 30 minutes for the 5K and 10K. The races suit everyone from a first 5K to a marathon PB attempt.

Bibs and kits are collected at the expo in the car park of the Teodoro Mariscal stadium on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 December, and every kit must be collected before its race. Saturday evening also brings a pasta dinner and a mascot race on Avenida Leonismo Internacional, and a light show at the stadium.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, so the dot on the map is only as good as that phone and its signal. The official results come from the organiser of the Gran Maratón HERSA Mazatlán.
