Laps of the island of Cozumel

GFNY Cozumel is a gran fondo on the island of Cozumel, Quintana Roo, part of the GFNY series, where riders circle the island.

The 2026 edition is on Sunday 8 November. The format is simple to understand: the medium route is one lap of the island, about 77 kilometres, and the long route is two laps, about 154 kilometres.

Riding around an island means the wind matters, and the event has a King of the Wind segment to reward the riders who handle it best. On the second lap, long route riders know every stretch of road ahead of them, which helps with pacing.

The medium route suits cyclists who ride regularly and want a one lap challenge, while the long route asks for the endurance to repeat that lap. Both are road routes, and the organiser publishes a course file for each one.

Because the long route covers the same lap twice, spectators have two chances to see riders pass the same spot. Check the organiser's programme for the start and finish area and timings on the island.
