Desenzano's spring gran fondo above Lake Garda

The Granfondo Colnago is the Sunday road race of the Colnago Lake Garda Cycling Festival in Desenzano del Garda, at the southern end of the lake.

The 19th Granfondo Colnago is on Sunday 11 April 2027, closing a festival that runs from 9 to 11 April. All routes start together at 7:30 from the Lungolago Cesare Battisti in Desenzano, with the grids opening at 7:00. Riders on the two competitive routes choose between them at the fork during the race.

The Granfondo covers 140 km with 2,010 m of climbing. Its climbs are Navazzo from Gargnano, Capovalle up to 900 m, Preseglie and the Coste di S. Eusebio from Odolo, with feed stations at Navazzo, Capovalle and Cima Coste. The Mediofondo covers 108 km and 1,384 m, climbing to San Michele from Gardone Riviera and over the Coste di S. Eusebio. Le Bellezze di D'Annunzio is a 40 km ride of 690 m past the Vittoriale that ends at the top of the San Michele climb, open with a non competitive medical certificate and without a ranking.

The competitive routes need a competitive cycling medical certificate. Places are limited per nation and per Italian region, and the fourth entry window opens on 12 November at 21:00.

For spectators, Desenzano is busy all weekend, with a gravel ride and the Giro del Lago randonnée on Friday, gravel, family and junior rides on Saturday, and fireworks on Saturday evening. On Sunday the first Mediofondo riders are expected around 10:15 and the first Granfondo riders around 11:00, with prize giving at 14:00 in Piazza Cappelletti.
