100 miles along the Wasatch Mountains

The Wasatch Front 100 Mile Endurance Run crosses the Wasatch Mountains from Kaysville to Soldier Hollow, starting at 5:00 on Friday 10 September 2027.

Held on the first Friday and Saturday after Labor Day each year, the Wasatch Front 100 first ran in 1980, when two of five starters finished. The 2027 race starts at 5:00 on Friday 10 September, and runners must reach the finish by 5:00 pm on Saturday 11 September, a 36 hour limit. It is one of the races of the Grand Slam of Ultrarunning.

The start is just past the entrance to East Mountain Wilderness Park in Kaysville, about 17 miles north of Salt Lake City. The course crosses the Wasatch Mountains to the Pavilion at Soldier Hollow in Wasatch Mountain State Park, Midway, with a cumulative gain of about 24,000 feet and a loss of about 23,300 feet. The organisers publish section maps and GPS files of the whole route.

Entry is by lottery. Registration runs from 1 December 2026 to 4 January 2027 and the drawing is on 30 January 2027. Every entrant must also complete 8 hours of supervised trail work before 15 August, and runners must be at least 18. Mandatory check-in is on Thursday 9 September at Sugarhouse Park.

Race temperatures have typically ranged from 25 to 90 F, and one year fresh snow fell on Catherine's Pass. Crews and family may meet runners only at Big Mountain, Lamb's Canyon and Brighton, with Washington Park as the staging area for the first two, and food trucks at the Soldier Hollow finish serve runners and family.
