Philadelphia Marathon, live.

Three races that end at the Art Museum

The Philadelphia Marathon weekend brings a marathon, a half marathon and an 8K to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway on 21 and 22 November 2026.

The Philadelphia Marathon weekend runs from 20 to 22 November 2026, its 32nd edition. The first race in 1994 had about 1,500 participants, and the organisers now count it among the top ten marathons in the country. For 2026 the TIAA Philadelphia Marathon, the Dietz & Watson Philadelphia Half Marathon and the Rothman Orthopaedics 8K are all sold out.

The marathon starts at 7:00 on Sunday 22 November at 22nd Street and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, near the Philadelphia Museum of Art, with push rim wheelchair athletes away at 6:55. The course passes through the historic district, University City and Fairmount Park and follows the Schuylkill River and Kelly Drive, with neighbourhood residents cheering in University City and Manayunk. It ends with a run towards the steps of the Art Museum.

The half marathon starts from the same place at 7:00 on Saturday 21 November. It goes through Old City and Center City, crosses the Schuylkill into University City, climbs through Fairmount Park and comes back along the river to finish in front of the Museum of Art. The 8K follows at 11:00 the same day from 25th Street and Kelly Drive, a 4.97 mile run along the river.

Fluid stations and spectator overlooks are set up throughout the marathon course, and the organiser describes spectators lining the route, eager to cheer the athletes on.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the Philadelphia Marathon organisers.
