The Waikiki Roughwater Swim is a 3.84 km ocean swim along Waikiki in Honolulu, from Sans Souci Beach to the Hilton Hawaiian Village.

The 56th edition is on Monday 6 September 2027, and the start is at 8:30 AM. Swimmers gather at Sans Souci Beach, between the Natatorium and the Kaimana Beach Hotel, and start in front of the New Otani.

The course runs 2.384 miles, or 3.84 km, along Waikiki. Swimmers keep both turn buoys on their right shoulder, and the finish is on the beach at the Hilton Hawaiian Village at the far end of Waikiki. The organiser counts around 1000 swimmers on the start line.

The course goes out through the Kapua channel by the Outrigger Canoe Club, across Waikiki and in through the Hilton Hawaiian Village channel, with buoys every few hundred metres. Swimmers start in seeded groups at five minute intervals from 8:30 AM, the finish is on Duke Kahanamoku Beach, and official finishers must complete the swim in under 2 hours and 40 minutes. The organiser asks anyone who struggles to swim 2000 metres not to enter.

Registration opens on 1 April 2027. Online entry closes on 4 September, and swimmers can also register in person on 5 September and on race morning. The organiser publishes fees and check-in details on its site.
