Galloway Forest gravel from Gatehouse of Fleet

The Gralloch is a three-day gravel festival in Gatehouse of Fleet, Scotland, from 14 to 16 May 2027, with an ultra, a UCI Gravel World Series race and two sportives.

Everything starts and finishes at the event village in Garries Park, in the heart of Gatehouse of Fleet, where the weekend adds shakeout rides, panel talks, live music, local food and craft beer. The riding goes deep into the Galloway Forest Park on wide forest tracks past lochs and woodland.

New for 2027, the Ultra opens the weekend with a 6am roll out on Friday 14 May. It is one long line of about 320 km through the Galloway Forest Park and the Galloway and Southern Ayrshire UNESCO Biosphere, with four Refuges for food, rest and repairs and a 24 hour limit. The 2027 route will be revealed later, and in 2026 it ran to 323 km with 4,819 metres of climbing.

Saturday is the race: 111 km with 1,761 metres of climbing, over 80% gravel, starting and finishing in Garries Park. Riders start in pens by age and gender, the first start is at 9:00 AM, and feed zones sit at 29.1km, 61.1km and 87.1km. It is a UCI Gravel World Series event, so age group riders race for qualification to the Gravel World Championships, and Elite riders need a UCI ID.

On Sunday the Stag sportive follows the 111 km race course ridden the day before, with over 1,700 metres of climbing including Fuffock Hill and Slaughter Hill. The Fawn is 53km with 800 metres of climbing and 65% gravel, passing Loch Skerrow and Loch Grannoch, and suits riders who want the scenery without the toughest climbs. Sportive riders pick a start wave at 8:30, 9:00, 9:30 or 10:00, and the two earliest are for the Stag only.

On Livebib you can follow a rider live when they choose to share their own position from the phone they carry. That dot comes from the cyclist, not from the organiser's timing, and the official results are published by the organiser after the ride. Ultra riders also carry the organiser's own GPS tracker, which is separate from Livebib.
