Out past Kirkstall Abbey and back
The Leeds Abbey Dash is a 10 km road race from Leeds city centre out past the ruins of Kirkstall Abbey and back, held at the end of the year.
The 2026 race starts at 09:30 on Sunday 29 November 2026. Run For All organises it for the second year, after it was previously organised by Age UK, which remains the lead partner charity. The Abbey Dash has been selected as the England Athletics 10K Championship event, and an elite field returns in 2026.
Participants set off down Wellington Street, head towards Cardigan Fields and pass the gothic ruins of Kirkstall Abbey, then turn back down Abbey Road past the Abbey House Museum and along Kirkstall Road to finish on Wellington Street. The organiser publishes a static route map, an elevation map, an interactive map and a road closure map.
Entrants must be 15 or over on race day. Entry includes a finisher medal, chip timing and a goody bag, with an optional finisher T-shirt. Elite places were open to women under 36:00 and men under 30:30 for 10 km, with applications closed in July.
Run For All encourages people of all abilities to take part, whether they are chasing a personal best, fundraising for a cause close to them or simply aiming to get round and enjoy the day, and it is a popular way to end the running year in Leeds.
On Livebib you can follow a participant live when they choose to share the position of the phone they carry. That position comes from the participant's own phone and is not the organiser's timing, so official results and splits come from the organiser.
