Strong Viking Obstacle Run Wijchen, live.

Mud and water near Nijmegen

Strong Viking Obstacle Run Wijchen is a three day obstacle run near Nijmegen, with distances from 4 to 42 km through mud, water and large obstacles.

The June 2027 edition runs on Friday 11, Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 June in Wijchen. Strong Viking calls it the weekend when the water gods are calling, and water plays a big part in the course. The organiser also holds a spring edition in Wijchen in April and events in Belgium and Germany.

Strong Viking offers five obstacle run distances: Beginning 4 km for newcomers, Lightning 7 km, Warrior 13 km, Beast 19 km and a full 42 km. There is also a 4 km Family Run where children from 5 years old take on child-friendly obstacles with their parents.

The obstacles are the reason people come back. From 13 km upwards the course includes the Fjord Drop, a 14 metre high water slide. Storm the Castle, the Mud Trenches, the Flying Ragnar trapeze swing into the water, the Hammer Banger and the Snake Bars test strength, nerve and teamwork, and the 2.5 metre wall has a lower variant for those who want it.

Along the course there are aid stations with water and snacks: one on the 4 km, two on the 7 km and three on the 13 km. Supporters are welcome to come and cheer, admission is free and the venue opens at 8:30. Around the start and finish area there are obstacles to watch, stands and catering, and parking fees may apply.

On Livebib you can follow a participant live if they choose to share their own position from the phone they carry. That position comes from the participant, not from the organiser's timing, and the official results are published by the organiser.
