Olympic distance on the St. Pete waterfront

St. Anthony's Triathlon is an Olympic and sprint distance race on the St. Petersburg waterfront in Florida, with the main races on Sunday 25 April 2027.

The race celebrates its 44th anniversary in 2027 and describes itself as one of the first and longest running triathlons in the United States and the fourth largest Olympic distance race in the country. It is run by a not-for-profit organisation, and the proceeds support St. Anthony's Hospital, part of BayCare.

The Olympic triathlon starts at 6:50am on Sunday 25 April with a 1.5 km swim, a 40 km bike and a 10 km run, open to ages 15 and up. The Sprint follows at about 8:35am with a 750 m swim, an 18 km bike and a 5 km run, open to ages 12 and up. The course closes and roads reopen at 1:15pm. On Saturday 24 April the Meek and Mighty triathlon is a short pool based race for youth and adult beginners.

The swim starts at sunrise near the St. Pete Pier in Tampa Bay. The bike is a flat, closed course through downtown and past the marinas, and the run goes through the downtown neighbourhoods to the finish. It suits a first Olympic distance as well as an early season test.

Packet pickup and the expo are at Vinoy Park on Friday and Saturday, with no race day pickup and photo ID required. The organiser promises some of the best on-course spectators, and everyone can stay for the post race party with food, drinks and live music.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry on course. That dot on the map is the person's own sharing, not the organiser's timing, and the official results are published by the organiser.
