Spartan Zandvoort European Championship Weekend, live.

Beach, dunes and the European Championship

Spartan Zandvoort is an obstacle race weekend on the Dutch coast at Zandvoort on 4 and 5 September 2027, hosting the Spartan European Championship.

Saturday 4 September is the Beast, 21 km with 30 obstacles. Sunday 5 September is the Super, 10 km with 25 obstacles, and the Sprint, 5 km with 20 obstacles, runs on both days, including a Night Sprint after dark. A kids race of 1 to 3 km and a Hurricane Heat take place on Friday 3 September.

The course tests traction on many surfaces: the beach, the village streets, the promenade and the dunes. Running in soft sand is slow and heavy on the legs, so the distances feel longer than on a trail.

Zandvoort is a Trifecta weekend where the Sprint, Super and Beast can all be done over two days. Spartan PARA is part of the event again, and para athletes can register in the open heat of the category they choose.

The event is based at the Badhuisplein on the Strandweg, right by the beach.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry on the course. That dot is the person's own sharing, not the organiser's timing, and the official results are published by the organiser.
