Silver Rush 50 Run, live.

Silver Rush 50 Run on 10 July 2027 in Leadville, Colorado: a 50 mile out and back with 8,000 feet of gain, plus the Silver Rush 15 Run.

Fifty miles through Leadville's mining district

The Silver Rush 50 Run takes place on 10 July 2027 in Leadville, Colorado, with a 50 mile race and a 15 mile race on the same course.

The Silver Rush 50 is part of the Leadville Race Series run by Life Time. It is an out and back of about 50 miles through the historic mining district on the east side of Leadville, mostly on dirt roads first laid by miners and their burros, under 14,000 foot peaks. The organiser lists 8,000 feet of elevation gain and calls it a trial run and a qualifying event for the Leadville Trail 100 Run.

The 2027 schedule is still subject to change. In the 2026 schedule the 50 mile race started at 6:00 am and the 15 mile race at 9:00 am, both from the base of the Dutch Henry tubing hill in Leadville. The 50 mile course passes aid stations at Black Cloud, Printer Boy, Venir and Stumptown, with gun time cutoffs and a 14 hour total course limit.

The roads are not closed to traffic, so runners share them with vehicles. The 15 mile race uses the same start and finish and is a good step into ultrarunning at altitude. The 2026 event was cancelled because of the Willow Fire.

Parking is tight in Leadville and the organiser asks athletes and spectators not to park at the start line. The awards evening for the 50 mile race also includes a coin drawing for the Leadville Trail 100 Run lottery.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and official results come from the Leadville Race Series.
