Rock 'n' Roll Arizona, live.

A winter half through Tempe, Scottsdale and Phoenix

Rock 'n' Roll Arizona opens the running year in the Valley of the Sun on 16 and 17 January 2027.

The Arizona edition of the Rock 'n' Roll Running Series is a January weekend based at Tempe Beach Park. The organiser says it has been celebrating over 20 years of running in the Valley of the Sun.

The half marathon starts at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday 17 January at South Mill Avenue and 3rd Street in Tempe, and the course page describes a tour of Phoenix, Tempe and Scottsdale past the red sandstone formations of Papago Park. It finishes on West Rio Salado Parkway by Tempe Beach Park, with a 4 hour time limit. The 10K starts at 7:00 a.m. on North Mill Avenue, north of East Curry, and finishes at the same place, with a 2 hour limit. The 5K is on Saturday 16 January at 8:00 a.m., starting and finishing at Tempe Beach Park, with a 1 hour limit.

The organiser lists an average air temperature of 68°F and promises smooth, scenic courses, which makes this a good early season target. Families can add the KiDS ROCK race, which the organiser also lists.

Spectators should head to Tempe Beach Park, where every race finishes and the Finish Line Festival takes place.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. That position comes from the participant, not from the organiser's timing, and the official results are published by the organiser.
