Sabiñánigo's Pyrenean gran fondo, and its shorter sister

The Quebrantahuesos is the big road sportive of the Aragonese Pyrenees, a 200 km Gran Fondo from Sabiñánigo that crosses into France and back, ridden together with the 85 km Treparriscos.

The 36th edition is on Saturday 19 June 2027, with Sabiñánigo once again the meeting point for thousands of cyclists. The event has more than three decades of history, and its hall of fame includes names such as Miguel Indurain, Pedro Delgado and Alberto Contador.

There are two separate routes on the same day. The Quebrantahuesos Gran Fondo is 200 km, and half of it runs in France, so every rider needs a medical certificate no older than one year on race day. The route map for the latest edition crossed the Somport, the Marie-Blanque, the Portalet and the Hoz de Jaca, with cut-off points along the way. The Treparriscos Medio Fondo covers 85 km and stays in Spain, and its riders start in a single pen behind the last Gran Fondo pen.

Places are limited, so both routes are filled by a draw, and each person may apply for one route only. A licence from a UCI national federation with cover in Spain and France is required, or the organiser's one-day insurance. Riders who have completed the Gran Fondo fifteen times or more get a place without the draw.

This is a ride for well-trained cyclists who are comfortable on long mountain climbs and fast descents. The start and the finish are both in Sabiñánigo, and in 2026 the event expo opened the day before the ride.
