PTR 25

The PTR 25 leaves the historic centre on asphalt, runs an urban section to the foot of the Serra da Bocaina and then turns rural, through preserved Atlantic Forest on trails, dirt roads and singletrack, with a river crossing on the way. It is a loop that comes back to Paraty. The organiser publishes 750 m of climbing and 754 m of descent.

The organiser calls it fast and challenging with low technical demands, and says it suits both experienced runners looking for a short mountain race and people running their first. Starting at 08:00, it is the last of the morning starts from the historic centre, and the 6-hour limit leaves plenty of room. Expect wet feet at the river and a quick finish back on the town’s streets.

With four races out on Saturday, a supporter in Paraty may have more than one runner to follow. On Livebib each runner shares a link to their own broadcast. Family and friends open it in a browser, with no account or app, and see position on the course line, distance covered and a finish estimate that updates as the race goes. If the phone loses signal in the forest, the position is carried forward along the course and marked as estimated, never as measured.
