The 49th Old Dominion 100 starts at 4:00 am on Saturday 5 June 2027 at the Shenandoah County Fairgrounds in Woodstock, Virginia.

The Old Dominion 100 Mile Endurance Run has been held since 1979 on the first weekend in June. It is run entirely by volunteers with no sponsors, in the spirit of the ultras of the 1980s and 1990s. The 2027 race, the 49th, starts and finishes at the Shenandoah County Fairgrounds in Woodstock, Virginia, and has room for 110 participants.

The course climbs about 14,000 feet and is not a pure trail race. Roughly 62 percent is dirt and gravel road, 22 percent trail and single track and 16 percent paved road. The first six miles pass through historic Woodstock, then the route crosses the Shenandoah River at Burnshire Dam, climbs to Woodstock Gap and enters the George Washington National Forest and Fort Valley, ringed by the Massanutten Mountains.

Finishing within 24 hours earns the sterling silver buckle, and the course closes at 28 hours. Entrants need a 50 mile or longer race finished between 6 June 2026 and 16 May 2027, or an earlier Old Dominion under 24 hours. Registration for 2027 opens on 28 November.

The mandatory race briefing is at 5:00 pm on Friday 4 June at the fairgrounds, and drop bags must be there by then. Each runner may have one crew vehicle, which must follow the crew directions and stay off the marked course. Safety runners are allowed from mile 75 to mile 86, a section usually covered in the dark. Free camping is available at the fairgrounds.
