62 miles of Marin Headlands trail from Stinson Beach

The 31st edition of the Miwok 100K starts and finishes at Stinson Beach Community Center on Saturday 1 May 2027 at 5am.

The Miwok 100K is a trail ultra in the Marin Headlands just north of San Francisco. It began in 1996 with 69 starters and has been led by women race directors ever since, from Kellie Sheehan to Tia Bodington and now Magda Boulet. The start and finish moved to Stinson Beach in 2012, and the 2027 race on 1 May is the 31st edition.

The course covers 62 miles with over 11,000 feet of gain. It climbs the Dipsea Trail before dawn, runs out to Muir Beach and Tennessee Valley, loops past Bridge View above the Golden Gate Bridge, and returns over Mount Tamalpais to Bolinas Ridge and the Randall Trail. The last miles drop down the technical Matt Davis Trail to the finish.

The field is limited to 400 participants with a time limit of 15 hours and 30 minutes, and there are firm intermediate cutoffs. Registration for 2027 opens on 7 November 2026 at 6am Pacific time on RunSignUp, and the race usually sells out. Teams of four can also share the course in the relay, with legs of about 26, 9.5, 14 and 13 miles.

Crews may meet participants at Tennessee Valley, at Muir Beach on the way back and at Randall, where pacers can join. The race has been cupless since 2013, so bring your own cup to aid stations.
