Through Fargo and Moorhead to a finish inside the FARGODOME

The Essentia Health Fargo Marathon returns on 21 and 22 May 2027, ending inside the FARGODOME.

Fargo's race weekend has distances from a youth run to the full marathon. The Fargo 5K is on Friday 21 May at 6:30 p.m. On Saturday 22 May the marathon starts at 7:00 a.m., the half marathon at 7:15 a.m. and the 10K at 7:40 a.m., from 33 17th Avenue North just outside the FARGODOME.

The marathon travels through downtown Fargo, crosses into Moorhead and winds along riverfront sections and neighbourhoods before returning to the FARGODOME. The half marathon heads through north Fargo towards downtown, near the Red River and through historic Island Park. The organiser calls the course mostly flat and fast, and the 2027 course map is still subject to change.

The flat profile suits first time marathoners as well as runners chasing a Boston qualifier. Pace groups cover marathon goals from 3:00 to 6:00 and half marathon goals from 1:30 to 3:00, and aid stations come roughly every two miles. The GoFar Challenge pairs two races on consecutive days.

The expo at the FARGODOME on 20 and 21 May is where every participant picks up a packet. Spectators can watch the finish inside the stadium and stay for the Finish Line Festival.
