Crescent City Classic, live.

New Orleans' Easter weekend 10K, Superdome to City Park

The Crescent City Classic 10K starts at 8:00 on Saturday 27 March 2027 near the Caesars Superdome in downtown New Orleans.

The Crescent City Classic has been a New Orleans tradition since 1979, when 902 people took part. It is held every year on the Saturday before Easter Sunday and is produced by the Crescent City Classic Foundation, a local nonprofit. Today it is the main fitness event in Louisiana and one of the oldest 10K races in the United States.

The 10 kilometre course, 6.2 miles, starts on Poydras Street near Loyola Avenue by the Superdome, runs through the French Quarter and up Esplanade Avenue to New Orleans City Park, where participants finish under old live oak trees. Many run in costume, and the organisers call it the only second line with a finish line.

Seeded corrals start promptly at 8:00, and the other corrals follow at intervals of three to five minutes, from fast runners aiming for under an hour to walkers finishing within 2 hours 30 minutes. Strollers and anything on wheels start in their own corral. Results use chip time, counted from the moment each participant crosses the start line.

Bibs and shirts are collected at the expo on the Thursday and Friday before the race, with no pickup on race day. After the finish the Michelob Ultra RaceFest in City Park has live music and local food, and the Run for It charity programme aims to raise 1 million dollars a year for local nonprofits.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the Crescent City Classic.
