From the Stockyards to TCU and back to Will Rogers

The Cowtown race weekend returns to Fort Worth on 27 and 28 February 2027, from a kids 5K to a 31.1 mile ultra.

The Cowtown is the largest multi event road race in North Texas and one of the biggest youth races in the country. It is a nonprofit event, and its proceeds fund the C.A.L.F. program, which since 2009 has helped tens of thousands of children train for and finish a 5K.

Saturday 27 February holds the 10K, the Adult 5K at 7:00 and the Kids 5K at 9:45. Sunday 28 February holds the half marathon, the full marathon and the ultra marathon of 31.1 miles. All races start on Gendy Street south of Lancaster Avenue at Will Rogers Memorial Center in the Cultural District. The Cowtown Challenge rewards people who race on both days.

The long course heads north to the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards, then south down Main Street into downtown, through the Near Southside and around the TCU campus and Bluebonnet Circle. It passes Colonial Country Club and the Fort Worth Zoo, runs along the Trinity River through Trinity Park and finishes back at Will Rogers. Water stops are every 1.5 miles. After the last corral starts, the full and ultra courses stay open for 7.5 hours, the half for 4.5 hours, the 10K for 2.5 hours and the 5K for 1.5 hours. The full and ultra are Boston qualifiers.

Online registration closes on 26 February 2027 unless a distance fills first, and there are no deferrals or refunds. The organiser lists watch parties along the route for spectators.
