Columbus Marathon, live.

A flat Columbus course with a patient champion at every mile

The Nationwide Children's Hospital Columbus Marathon weekend returns to Columbus, Ohio, on 16 and 17 October 2027.

The Columbus Marathon has Nationwide Children's Hospital as its title beneficiary, a partnership that reached its 15th year in 2026 and has raised more than 15 million dollars for the hospital. The 2027 weekend is on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 October, with the marathon, the half marathon, the Jesse Owens 5K, a one mile race and a kids run.

The course has minimal elevation change and starts at North Bank Park. It tours downtown Columbus past the Ohio Statehouse, Nationwide Children's Hospital and historic German Village, and the marathon also visits Bexley, Upper Arlington, Grandview Heights and The Ohio State University.

What sets the race apart is its Marathon Mile Champions. On the marathon, 24 miles are each represented by a patient at Nationwide Children's, one is an inspirational mile for children who died too young and one is an alumni mile for champions from past years. The half marathon has 11 patient miles. The families stand beside their mile and cheer.

In 2026 the 5K started at 9:00 on Saturday and the marathon and half at 7:30 on Sunday, after the wheelchair division at 7:25, both full and half sold out, and 2027 times are still to be published. Marathon entrants must be at least 16 and half marathon entrants at least 12. The Gold Medal Challenge pairs the 5K with a longer race.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the Columbus Marathon.
