Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run, live.

Ten miles through the capital in spring

The Credit Union Cherry Blossom 10 Mile starts at 7:30 on Sunday 4 April 2027 from the Washington Monument Grounds in Washington, DC.

The Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run calls itself the runner's rite of spring, and it is the capital's big spring road race. The 2027 weekend has two races. The 5K starts at 9:15 on Saturday 3 April on Pennsylvania Avenue, and the 10 Mile follows on Sunday 4 April, with the elite women away at 7:18 and the main field at 7:30. The race's all time results database covers every edition from 1973 to 2026.

Entry for 2027 is by lottery for the 10 Mile, the 5K and the Double Blossom, which combines both races. The lottery opens at 10:00 on 14 December 2026 and closes at midnight on 5 January 2027, and 2027 is the first year the 5K is also drawn by lottery. Members of the 100 Mile Club, two time lottery losers, charity entrants and seeded runners have their own routes in.

The 10 Mile starts in six colour coded corrals of about 3,500 people each, released at intervals of three to five minutes. A participant has 2 hours 20 minutes from crossing the start line to earn an official time, and the finish line closes at 10:20. The 5K has a limit of 75 minutes. Strollers are not allowed, and push assist duos race in the wheelchair category.

The 10 Mile is part of the Professional Road Running Organization circuit, so the front of the race is fast, yet most of the field is there for the experience of racing ten miles in the capital in spring. Metro hours for race morning in 2027 are not yet confirmed, so participants and spectators should check transport plans close to the date.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the Cherry Blossom organisers.
