Seven miles from the foot of Brady Street Hill

The Quad-City Times Bix 7 celebrates its 53rd running in downtown Davenport on Saturday 24 July 2027 at 8 a.m.

The Bix 7 began in 1975, when John Hudetz of Bettendorf brought some of the excitement of his first Boston Marathon home and 84 runners took to the streets of the Quad Cities. Olympic and elite athletes such as Bill Rodgers, Joan Benoit Samuelson, Frank Shorter and Meb Keflezighi have run it since.

The 7 mile course is an out and back through downtown Davenport. It begins at the base of Brady Street Hill and finishes along the Mississippi River at what the organiser calls the Midwest's biggest post-race party, with live bands and cheering crowds along the way. The Prairie Farms Quick Bix covers 2 miles and lines up at the same time and place.

Runners and walkers of every level take part, and the elite field races for prize money. In the Beat the Elite challenge two selected runners get a head start and win if they reach the finish before the overall winner.

Race week builds towards Saturday: the Senior Bix on Tuesday 20 July, the Brady Street Sprints on Thursday 22 July and the Jr. Bix for children on Friday 23 July. Spectators line the course and gather for the post-race party by the river.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. That position comes from the participant, not from the organiser's timing, and the official results are published by the organiser.
