100 miles from Logan to Bear Lake in autumn colour

The Bear 100 starts at 6:00 on Friday 24 September 2027 and crosses the mountains from Logan, Utah, to Conestoga Ranch in Garden City.

The Bear 100 is a point to point mountain 100 miler in late September, when red maples and aspens colour the hills and nights can drop below freezing. The 2027 race starts at 6:00 on Friday 24 September and has a 36 hour limit, with the cutoff at 18:00 on Saturday 25 September.

The start is at Hyrum Gibbons Mount Logan Park in Logan, and the finish is at Conestoga Ranch in Garden City, in the Bear Lake area. The course climbs about 20,321 feet in total, reaches 8,865 feet at its highest point and drops to 4,853 feet at its lowest. Recent course changes take it through North Syncline, Franklin Basin, Beaver Mountain, Stump Hollow, Peter Sinks and Burnt Fork.

Entry is by lottery. Applications run from 15 November to 10 December, and the drawing is on 19 December at 7 pm Mountain time. In 2026, 886 people applied for 300 spots. Applicants need a qualifier, such as a 50 miler in under 16 hours or a 100K, 100 or 200 mile finish, and every entrant must complete 8 hours of volunteer work by 15 September.

Finishers earn a buckle that reflects their time: a Black Bear for 30 to 36 hours, a Grizzly Bear for 24 to 30 hours and a Wolverine under 24 hours. The finish at Conestoga Ranch has ample parking for family, friends and crews who come to cheer runners in.
