Sand, slickrock and slot canyons around Page

The Antelope Canyon Ultras start on Saturday 6 March 2027 at the Page Sports Complex in Page, Arizona.

Antelope Canyon is a desert race produced by Aravaipa Running around Page, near Lake Powell in northern Arizona. The organiser warns of deep sand and rising slickrock, then the reward of narrow slot canyons glowing red and gold.

The 50 mile race covers 51.7 miles with about 5,019 feet of gain and a 19 hour limit. It weaves through red rock mesas, deep washes and slot canyons on sandy jeep roads and exposed slickrock, with steep climbs, ladders, short scrambles and sections of via ferrata and cable assisted descents, and passes near Horseshoe Bend, Marble Canyon and Lake Powell before finishing on the Page Rim Trail. The 55K covers 34.2 miles through Owl Canyon, Antelope Canyon, Deer Canyon and Ligai Si Anii to Antelope Ridge.

The 50 mile and 55K start at 5:00 am, the 30K at 7:00 am and the half marathon at 8:00 am. The 30K is 19.7 miles with about 1,799 feet of gain, and the half marathon 13.2 miles with about 1,082 feet. Bib pickup is on Friday 5 March at the Page Sports Complex, and online registration closes on 1 March.

Crews are permitted only for the 50 mile and 55K, and pacers only for the 50 mile. The shorter races offer the canyon scenery to people who are not ready for a desert ultra.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and official results come from Aravaipa Running.
