36ONE MTB Challenge, live.

The 36ONE MTB Challenge from 21 to 23 May 2027 at Oudtshoorn: 361 km in a 36.1 hour maximum, plus The Half and relay teams of two and four.

Kleinplaas Holiday Resort, Oudtshoorn · May 21, 2027

361 km in the Klein Karoo

The 36ONE MTB Challenge is an endurance ride of 361 km around Oudtshoorn in the Western Cape, organised by Dryland.

The 2027 event runs from 21 to 23 May, based at Kleinplaas Holiday Resort in Oudtshoorn, with the ride itself starting on 22 May. The name says it all: 361 kilometres with a maximum of 36.1 hours to finish. Riders may use a mountain bike or a gravel bike.

For those who want the format at a smaller scale, The Half follows a 196 kilometre route with 2,950 metres of climbing on the 2027 route page, finishing in Oudtshoorn. Teams can also share the full distance as relays of four riders or two riders.

The full Challenge is for experienced endurance cyclists who have ridden through the night and know how to manage food, sleep and equipment over a day and a half. The Half and the relays open the event to riders and friends who want to take part without the full 361 kilometres.

Kleinplaas Holiday Resort is the event base, and Oudtshoorn is where riders finish, so those are the places for supporters. Check the organiser's race information for support rules and timings.

On Livebib you can follow a participant live when that person chooses to share their own position from the phone they carry during the race. The dot on the map comes from the participant's phone, not from the organiser's timing, and the official results are published by the organiser.
