53 km of gravel and trail among the mountain farms

Valdresrittet is a 53 km mountain bike race from Vaset Stadion through the summer farm country of Valdres, with 932 m of climbing.

The 2027 race is on Saturday 24 July, with start and finish at Vaset Stadion. It is part of the Valdres triple, together with a ski race in winter and a running race, and the bike race is the summer leg.

The course mixes fast gravel roads with five terrain sections. It opens along Vasetvatnet, and after about 3 km comes the first short climb of 50 m. At 11 km the road rises about 140 m toward Grønsennhøgda before the first and longest trail section, roughly 5 km of tractor track and singletrack toward Svult. Then comes the 6 km tempo stretch from Svult to Pyttingen, often exposed to the wind along Midtre Syndisvatnet.

The food station sits at 24 km, on the climb before the junction at Syndinstøga. After 29 km the climb to Sonjavarden gains almost 150 m in 2 km and leads straight into joined-up trail riding from Sonjavarden to Viksyndin. The descent toward Ødestølen sees speeds above 70 km per hour, so the organiser asks riders to use their heads and brakes. The last section follows trail and ski track back to the stadium.

The race suits riders who enjoy varied terrain and can handle some technical singletrack, and there are shorter junior and children's races on the same day. The event also has 22 km and 11 km courses, and start numbers are collected at the secretariat at Vaset Stadion.
