The organiser gave 60 km and 3,500 metres of climb with a maximum time of 14 hours 30, which made it a one-day race: the last finishers were due in Chamonix by 22:45. The course climbed to Champex-Lac at 7 km, then took the same line as the longer races through Plan de l’Au and La Giète to Trient at 24 km.

From Trient it climbed past the Chalet des Grands to the Col de Balme (2,202 m) at 34 km on the Franco-Swiss border and on to the Tête de Balme, which the organiser names as the new high point of the course. It then dropped onto the Swiss side toward Vallorcine, climbed back to the Col des Posettes, and descended through Le Tour and Argentière at 50 km before the northern balcony trails into Chamonix. The OCC is the 50K final of the UTMB World Series, open to runners with at least one Running Stone.
