Salomon Marató Pirineu 42K
The Marató Pirineu is 43 km with 2,900 metres of ascent, and it is built around one big climb. From Bagà at 795 metres it goes up to Rebost at km 9.9 (1,640 m, cut-off 10:30) and on to the Niu de l’Àliga hut at km 16.4, 2,520 metres, with a cut-off at 12:30. From there it passes Coll de la Trapa at km 28 and comes down to the Sant Jordi hut at km 31.3. In 2026 the final section was changed: from Sant Jordi down to Coll d’Escriu, on to Grèixer at km 37.9 and back to Plaça Catalunya, with the race closing at 18:30.
There are four aid stations, at Rebost, Niu, Sant Jordi and Grèixer. Outside assistance is allowed only at Niu de l’Àliga; anywhere else it is penalised. The organiser publishes GPX and KMZ files of the track.
This page covers the 2026 marathon. The climb to 2,520 metres is where a phone is most likely to lose its signal. A runner who shares the link to their Livebib broadcast lets family and friends follow the position on the course line, the distance covered and a finish estimate for Bagà that updates as the race goes; when the signal drops, the position is carried forward along the course and marked as estimated instead of freezing.
