Salomon Ultra Pirineu, live.

From Plaça Porxada into the Cadí-Moixeró

A trail weekend in the Catalan Pyrenees where the long races leave a medieval square in Bagà at 795 metres and come back to another one.

Salomon Ultra Pirineu is held from 2 to 4 October 2026 in Bagà, in the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park. The ultra, the marathon and the Mitja all start on Plaça Porxada and finish on Plaça Catalunya, at 795 metres. On Friday evening the weekend opens away from Bagà, with the La Molina Nit Pirineu KV: 5 km and 860 metres of climbing from the La Molina gondola to the Niu de l’Àliga hut at 2,520 metres, started at 18:30 as a sunset race.

The 2026 ultra was a new course of about 60 km and 3,900 metres of ascent, started at 05:30 on Saturday with a 19:45 closing time; it climbs via Rebost to Niu and on to Serrat de les Esposes, Cortals, Sant Jordi, Aula Natura and Turbians. The 43 km marathon, 2,900 metres, started at 08:00 the same day and goes up to Niu de l’Àliga at 2,520 metres before coming down by Sant Jordi and Grèixer. On Sunday the 21.5 km Mitja climbs 1,250 metres via Turbians and Aula Natura, with views of Pedraforca. Forecast thunderstorms led the organiser to activate alternative routes on the ultra and the marathon in 2026.

Most of this ground is trail — 82 per cent on the ultra — with long climbs where a phone loses its signal. Each runner can share a link to their own Livebib broadcast; family and friends open it in a browser, with no account or app, and see the runner’s position on the course line, the distance covered and a finish estimate for Plaça Catalunya that updates as the race goes. Anything estimated is marked as estimated, and when the signal drops on a climb the position is carried forward along the course instead of freezing. The runner decides who gets the link.
