Around the Golfe du Morbihan, with a boat in the middle

The 22nd Ultra Marin runs from 23 to 27 June 2027 on the coastal paths of the Golfe du Morbihan, with races from 13 to 175 km.

Since 2005 L'Ultra Marin has sent thousands of people along the coastal paths of the Golfe du Morbihan in Brittany. Over four days, by day and by night, close to 10,000 participants take part in its races, helped by 1,500 volunteers. A crossing by boat, the islands of the gulf and long stretches of shoreline give it a character of its own.

The Grand Raid, 175 km around the whole gulf with about 1,430 m of climbing, starts in Vannes on Friday 25 June 2027 at 19:00, with a limit of 42 hours. Halfway, semi rigid boats carry participants across the mouth of the gulf from Port-Navalo to Locmariaquer. The Grand Relais covers the same tour in a team of four from 19:45. The Raid, 100 km, leaves Saint-Gildas-de-Rhuys on Thursday 24 June at 06:00 and finishes at the port of Vannes.

On Saturday 26 June, L'Arvor (60 km) starts in Auray at 08:00, and Le Réveil des Ducs (70 km) leaves the Château de Suscinio in Sarzeau at 23:00 for a night run to Vannes. La Ronde des Douaniers, 34 km and one of the fastest formats, starts in Baden on Sunday 27 June at 08:00, and the 13 km Course des Marins is open from age 16. Places are allocated by a draw.

The terrain is rolling rather than mountainous, so the challenge is distance, night running and the sea air. The organiser will publish the 2027 courses during the year. Supporters can find the race in the towns around the gulf and at the finish in Vannes.
