Medtronic TC 10 Mile
The organiser calls it a shortcut to the Capitol. The first three miles run on a dedicated route separate from the marathon, and that section has its own rule: an 18-minutes-per-mile pace, with slower participants asked onto the sidewalk. From there the course crosses the Mississippi and joins the marathon’s last stretch — Summit Avenue between miles 5.5 and 9, then Cathedral Hill past the Cathedral of Saint Paul at miles 9–10 and down to the Capitol grounds.
Every 10 Mile participant must finish by 2:50 p.m. Runners near 15-minute miles may be passed by the marathon leaders on the shared section. Fluid stations carry water and Nuun, and pacers run even splits for finish times from 1:10 to 2:20. The 2026 race was sold out.
Because the 10 Mile starts an hour before the marathon and ends on the same streets, a family can follow two runners over one morning. With Livebib each runner shares a link to their own broadcast: their position on the line, distance done and a finish estimate that updates as they go, opened in a browser with no app or account. Estimates are marked as estimates, and the runner decides who can see the link.
