Five boroughs, two million voices, one Central Park finish

From the deafening silence of the Verrazzano Bridge through the roaring wall of First Avenue to Tavern on the Green.

The TCS New York City Marathon is the ultimate urban pilgrimage: 42.195 kilometres carving through five distinct worlds. It begins with cannon fire and the roaring winds of the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, where runners leave Staten Island suspended between sea and sky. The route rolls through the block parties of Brooklyn and over the Pulaski Bridge into Queens, before crossing the silent steel trusses of the Queensboro Bridge. Coming off the ramp onto First Avenue, runners hit an unforgettable, deafening wall of sound from a million spectators lining the asphalt four-deep.

The final miles are pure attrition: a quick brush through the Bronx over the Willis Avenue Bridge, the punishing, deceptively long climb up Fifth Avenue past Harlem, and the rolling, deceptive curves of Central Park leading to the finish at Tavern on the Green. With over 50,000 runners choking cell towers, Livebib cuts through the noise: live GPS progress, accurate split pacing, and dynamic finish projections let families track every mile across the city without missing the moment their runner enters the park.
