The season opener on the Giant of Provence

The 25th Trail du Ventoux, from 19 to 21 March 2027, sends participants from Bédoin up the Mont Ventoux on six races from 13 to 105 km.

The Trail du Ventoux Au Vieux Campeur takes place in March around Bédoin, the base camp of the race at the foot of the Mont Ventoux. The 25th edition is from 19 to 21 March 2027. In 2026 some 3,500 people took part in the open races on Saturday and close to 2,000 in the French championship races on Sunday.

The new Ultra Tour du Ventoux opens the weekend on Saturday 20 March at 04:00 from Bédoin: 105 km and 5,000 m of climbing, with a 14 km ascent to the summit at dawn, the Aurel aid station at km 30, Saint-Léger-du-Ventoux and a last big climb to Mont Serein. The Intégrale des Crêtes (71 km, 3,400 m) starts at 05:15 and is reserved for people used to long mountain races. Évasion Baronnies Ventoux (64 km, 3,450 m) leaves Buis-les-Baronnies at 06:15 and reaches the summit at km 38 before finishing in Bédoin. The AOC Ventoux Sprint (13 km, 460 m) starts at 09:00 from the Domaine des Florans.

On Sunday 21 March, the Marathon Origine (48 km, 2,400 m) starts at 07:55 from the Domaine des Florans, on the route that for more than 15 years has opened the trail season in France, past the Rocher de la Madeleine. The Balcons du Ventoux (29 km, 1,350 m) starts at 10:00 on the course of the 2026 French short trail championship.

In March, snow is often present below the summit and the organiser adapts the route to the conditions. The Domaine des Florans in Bédoin hosts bib pickup, the race area and the starts and finishes, and the organiser runs shuttles between Bédoin and the Chalet Reynard, an assistance point open to the public on the mountain.
