Finishing on the Holmenkollen slope

Toughest Oslo is the obstacle race at Holmenkollen, with the main race on Saturday 4 September 2027 and the Xplore and Family courses on Sunday 5 September.

The organisers count Oslo among their most spectacular settings. The course runs through varied and challenging terrain with forest and hills before it finishes on the legendary Holmenkollen ski slope, so save something for the end.

The main race is about 8 km with full size obstacles, optional fast lanes on selected obstacles and short penalty loops if you skip one. Double Distance is two laps for about 16 km, comes with its own vest and qualifies for the OCR World Championships. On Sunday, Xplore covers 4 km at your own pace, and Family is 2 km with obstacles adapted so the youngest can complete them. Every obstacle is optional.

The event starts around 10:00 and start envelopes are available from 09:30. Your bib number and start time arrive by email four to five days before race day, and the start list is published on the event page. Collect your envelope at least 30 to 60 minutes before your start and bring valid ID.

Take metro line 1 towards Frognerseteren and get off at Holmenkollen station, about a ten minute walk from the arena. Drivers can set their GPS to Holmenkollen Nasjonalanlegg, where some parking is reserved for Toughest participants and a parking fee applies. There is also bike parking near the event area.

On Livebib, a participant can choose to share their own live position from the phone they carry, so friends can follow along on the map. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from Toughest.
