Flat and fast around Stokkavatnet

Stavanger Triathlon is a sprint and Olympic distance triathlon from Speidermarka at Krossberg in Stavanger on Sunday 20 June 2027.

The race is the annual triathlon of Stavanger Triathlonklubb, one of the oldest triathlon clubs in Norway, founded in 1987. It was first held in 2013 and has been held every year since, and the 2026 edition was the 14th in a row at Stokkavatnet. The club promises flat and fast courses in fine surroundings.

The swim is in Stokkavatnet, a lake with clean water and comfortable temperatures. The bike course leaves Krossberg via Sunde and Kvernevikvegen northwards towards Randaberg on quiet roads, with the sprint turning at Vistnesvegen and the Olympic distance at Tungenes. The run follows the gravel path along Stokkavatnet with a turnaround after 2.5 km at Mississippiskogen.

The sprint is 750 m of swimming, 20 km on the bike and 5 km of running, a good short race or a manageable first triathlon, with a junior class. The Olympic distance is 1500 m, 40 km and 10 km and is open to senior, elite and master classes from 18. Both distances can also be raced as a relay team, where each member takes one leg. The race is non-drafting, with at least 10 m between bikes.

Start and finish are next to the transition area at Speidermarka, so spectators can see athletes many times during the race, and on the lake path the runners are cheered on by people out for their Sunday walk. Entry opens on 1 December 2026, and a licence is required, either through a club or as a one-day licence.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry during the race. That is the athlete's own sharing and not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the organiser.
