Spartan Morzine Ultra World Championship Weekend, live.

The Spartan Ultra World Championship in the Alps

Spartan Morzine is an obstacle race weekend in Morzine-Avoriaz in the French Alps from 2 to 4 July 2027, home of the Spartan Ultra World Championship.

The weekend opens on Friday 2 July with the Ultra, 50 km and 60 obstacles, where Elite and Age Group racers compete for the world title. Saturday 3 July is the Beast, 21 km and 30 obstacles, Sunday 4 July is the Super, 10 km and 25 obstacles, and the Sprint, 5 km and 20 obstacles, runs on both days. A kids race of 1 to 3 km is on the Saturday.

The course is set in the mountains around Morzine, with forests, steep climbs and fast descents. The organiser describes a setting surrounded by the Alps, a lake and natural waterfalls. Mountain terrain makes the longer distances slower than their kilometres suggest, so pacing and carrying enough food matter.

Completing a Sprint, a Super and a Beast earns the Trifecta, and Morzine lets you do all three in one weekend. The Sprint is the entry point for newcomers, while the Ultra is for experienced obstacle racers. The event is based at 502 route du Palais des Sports in Morzine.

Spartan also runs Workout Tour sessions in France to prepare, and teams can register together.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry on the course. That dot is the person's own sharing, not the organiser's timing, and the official results are published by the organiser.
