A Trifecta weekend on the Salpausselkä ridges

Spartan returns to Lahti in southern Finland for a Trifecta Weekend on 20 to 22 August 2027, with all three classic distances based at the Lahti Sports Centre.

A Trifecta Weekend puts the Spartan Sprint, Super and Beast on one programme, so participants can race one distance or collect all three. Lahti sits inside the Salpausselkä UNESCO Global Geopark, a landscape shaped by meltwater from a continental glacier more than 12,000 years ago.

The Beast is the longest race, 21 km with 30 obstacles on Saturday 21 August. The Sprint covers 5 km with 20 obstacles and is run on both Saturday and Sunday. The Super is 10 km with 25 obstacles on Sunday 22 August. Doing the Beast and the Sprint on Saturday and the Super on Sunday is one way to complete the full set in a single weekend.

The Sprint is the natural first step for anyone new to obstacle racing, while the Beast asks for real endurance on top of grip strength and technique. Start times and arrival details are published by Spartan ahead of the event.

Lahti is within an hour's drive of Helsinki International Airport, which makes the weekend easy to reach for visitors from abroad. Spartan also calls Lahti a gateway to Finnish Lakeland. All three races are based at the Lahti Sports Centre.

On Livebib, a participant can choose to share their own live position from the phone they carry, so friends can follow along on the map. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from Spartan.
