A winter trail on snow in the Queyras

The Snow Trail du Queyras is a winter trail race in Ceillac, in the Queyras massif of the Hautes-Alpes, run on snow over three loop courses.

The 5th edition takes place on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 February 2027, organised by the Grand Raid du Guillestrois-Queyras association. All three courses start from the ESF building in Ceillac, and bibs are collected at the village multipurpose hall on Saturday from 14:00 to 18:00 or on Sunday from 7:30 to 9:30.

New for 2027 is La Nocturne, 9 km with 350 m of climbing, run by head torch on Saturday at 18:00. On Sunday the Parcours Sport (12 km, 500 m) and the Parcours Élite (23 km, 1,100 m) start together at 10:00. Fields are capped at 300 for the night race, 330 for the 12 km and 220 for the 23 km. The organisers note that distances and climbing may change with the weather, the snow cover and safety decisions.

These are mountain races in winter in semi self sufficiency. Every participant must carry a personal cup, full length tights or trousers, a long sleeved thermal base layer, a hat or Buff, gloves, a survival blanket and at least 500 ml of water. The 23 km is open from the U23 category, the 12 km and the night race from U20, and adults need an FFA running licence or a Pass Prévention Santé.

The format suits trail runners who want a short, sharp winter outing as much as those chasing a result on the Élite course. As every year, the first 50 women to enter get their entry free on the course of their choice. After the night race, hot wine, pizza and onion soup wait at the finish.
