A certified half marathon through the heart of Seville

The 32nd Medio Maratón de Sevilla takes place on Sunday 13 December 2026, starting and finishing on the Paseo de las Delicias.

The race was first held on 28 January 1996 as the Medio Maratón Isla de la Cartuja, created as a step between the city's popular races and the Seville Marathon. In 2016 it took the name Medio Maratón de Sevilla and moved part of its course from the Cartuja and the Parque del Alamillo into the centre of the city. It is part of the Spanish federation's national calendar and today draws more than 20,000 participants, with more than 400 volunteers.

The 2026 edition was planned for an earlier date, but the general election was called for that same day, so the organiser and the city moved the race to 13 December. Entries made for the original date remain valid, and the organiser says future editions are planned for November.

The course measures 21,097 m and is certified by the Spanish federation and World Athletics, with start and finish on the Paseo de las Delicias. Starts are staggered by pen: wheelchairs, the elite pen and pen 1 at 09:00, pens 2 and 3 at 09:05, pens 4 and 5 at 09:10 and pen 6 at 09:15. The time limit is 3 hours. Participants must be 18 on race day and hold a federation licence or buy a day licence with their entry. The runners' fair runs on 11 and 12 December.

With staggered pens, a three hour limit and a certified distance, the race works both for people running a first half marathon and for those chasing a time. Spectators can gather on the Paseo de las Delicias, where the race starts and finishes, and the organiser publishes passing times for each point of the course.
