Superfeet Sandman Triathlon & Duathlon, live.

Beach start, sea swim and a forest finish on Anglesey

The Superfeet Sandman starts barefoot on the sands of Traeth Llanddwyn on Sunday 26 September 2027 and finishes on the trails of Newborough Forest.

Sandman is the second race of the Adventure Triathlon & Duathlon Series from Always Aim High Events, after the Slateman in June. The swim is a simple out and back in the open sea from the beach, and the organiser is honest that only the sea decides whether it will be calm or white-tipped waves on the day.

The Sprint is a 750 m swim, 22.8 km bike and 5.7 km run. The Standard is 1500 m, 42.3 km and 10.2 km. The Legend 70.3 is 1900 m, 93 km and 20 km, running two laps of the Standard loop. The Sprint Duathlon is a 2 km run, 23 km bike and 5.7 km run, starting under the finish arch and including a stretch along the beach.

The organiser asks you not to believe the rumour that the island is flat. The bike climbs from transition in the forest to Newborough village and heads towards Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch before coming back by Malltraeth. The Legend adds Menai Bridge, the narrow coast road to Beaumaris and the steep climb of Allt Goch, the Red Hill. The run is on Newborough Forest trails that once hosted the Commonwealth Mountain and Ultra Distance Running Championships, and the last 1.5 km is almost entirely on sand.

Entries for 2027 open on 18 December 2026. Waves are set by your estimated finish time, and the Live Tracker app shows your wave before race day. Supporters can watch the beach start, then move to the forest finish for the run in over the sand.

On Livebib you can follow an athlete live when they choose to share their own position from the phone they carry on the bike and run. It is their own position, not the organiser's timing system, and official results come from the organiser.
