Run in Lyon Marathon

The marathon left in three groups: 08:15 for target times up to 3 h 30, 08:24 for 3 h 45 and 4 h, and 08:34 for 4 h 15 and beyond, with pacers from 3 h 15 to 4 h 30. On the organiser’s map it starts north up the Saône, past Vaise and L’Île Barbe, to the turn at Pont Paul Bocuse in Collonges-au-Mont-d’Or around km 8, then back down the other bank to Les Subs and across the Presqu’île by Place des Terreaux and Pont Morand.

The second half is the Rhône: up to the Cité Internationale around km 25 and a loop through the Parc de la Tête d’Or, then south along the Berges du Rhône past km 30 to Gerland, the stadium and the park around km 35, the Musée des Confluences and Confluence near km 40, and finally north to Place Bellecour. Chip timing points sat at 10 km, 21.1 km and 30 km.
